What is Restylane?
Restylane is a dermal filler that is great for those older than 21 years old who are looking to address lines, wrinkles, and lost volume in their face. Using a synthetic version of the body's natural hyaluronic acid (HA), this injectable gives our Body Bar MD patients a softer complexion and natural appearance. Performed in either our Carmel or Terre Haute, IN office, Restylane can help you treat moderate to severe wrinkles, like laugh and frown lines, Crow's feet, marionette lines, and more. With multiple formulas, Restylane can give you a unique result since it can treat multiple areas of concern.
Restylane is used to correct wrinkles and folds in the face.
Restylane Defyne is used to minimize deep smile and laugh lines.
Restylane Lyft lifts and creates volume in the mid-face.
Restylane Refyne is used to treat moderate smile and laugh lines.
It's important to share any allergies you have with Dr. Christy as Restylane does contain lidocaine. During your procedure, we will have you relax in one of our procedure rooms while we inject the Restylane formula into your treatment areas, followed by a cold compress to reduce swelling and ease any pain. This is a relatively quick treatment, between 15 minutes and an hour, that will get you back to your regular routine right after the procedure. Results typically appear after 1 – 2 weeks and last about a year.
Who Is An Ideal Candidate for Restylane?
Restylane dermal fillers are great for any patient older than 21 years old who would like to improve their overall appearance. Since it has several formulas, your treatment will be customized to suit your concerns and goals. Restylane may help you treat visible signs of aging, including fine facial lines, or improve the fullness in your lips and cheeks. It may also treat severe wrinkles, like laugh lines, frown lines, Crow's feet, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, and more. Some formulas are mixed with lidocaine, a local anesthetic, so you should disclose any known allergies during your pre-treatment consultation with Dr. Christy to avoid a reaction.
