We offer both injectable vein treatments, as well as the DyeVL IPL protocol, which is part of the Harmony XL Pro platform. This intense pulsed light treatment targets individual vascular lesions to clear skin in fewer sessions.
As the heat from the focused light makes contact with your treatment area, the targeted vein collapses, and your body gradually absorbs the vein, clearing the skin.
This depends on the size of the veins you want to treat. Smaller, less prominent veins will only need 1 to 3 sessions with the DyeVL IPL laser. Meanwhile, more advanced concerns may require 4 to 6 sessions of lasers and/or sclerotherapy.
Either way, we space our treatments 4 to 6 weeks apart. These breaks allow your body to fully recover between appointments, which is necessary to gradually reduce the visibility of stubborn veins.
Stay out of direct sunlight and tanning beds for 2 to 4 weeks before your visit to protect your treatment area from UV damage. Discontinuing blood thinners can also make treatment more effective, so long as your doctor approves.
Starting 1 day before your appointment, avoid hot showers, vigorous exercise, and alcohol. On treatment day, wear loose clothing that won’t restrict blood flow to the treatment area.
If we use sclerotherapy to treat your veins, you may need to wear a compression garment. Please wear this garment as prescribed, or your results may differ from your expectations.
Avoid sources of heat like saunas, hot showers, and rigorous exercise for 2 to 3 days. For 5 to 7 days post-treatment, only use gentle cleansers on your treatment area. Avoid exfoliating and other scrubbing.
Wear SPF 30+ every day to protect your skin and monitor your treated veins for any abnormalities. Let us know if you have further questions!
