While the Alma Harmony XL Pro laser we use at Body Bar MD is highly advanced, the laser tattoo removal treatment is still creating intense heat with every beam of light. Before starting any laser tattoo removal session, we will first cleanse the area, and then apply a numbing cream to decrease sensation and increase comfort.

The device moves directly over the skin, with the duration of the process depending on the size and complexity of the tattoo itself.

Once the laser session is over, we will apply a topical cream to the treated area. You will wear a bandage until the skin heals.

Post-laser tattoo removal side effects are similar to a sunburn: redness, skin sensitivity, slight swelling, and discomfort. The treated area often scabs over. Be sure to avoid sun exposure during this time of healing, as your skin will be especially sensitive.

Once the area has healed, it’s time to schedule a new session. We recommend keeping laser tattoo removal treatments four to seven weeks apart to allow for ample healing between appointments.

Tattoos typically begin to noticeable fade within one to two months.
